Privacy & Diagnostics

Plyed sends two kinds of diagnostic information to help us fix problems and decide what to improve. Projects you create in the desktop app are stored on your computer, but some features copy data to our servers and providers (cloud workspaces, sync and managed Git, publishing, AI requests and your own keys); the privacy policy explains what goes where.

Usage statistics are counts and timings about how the app is used. They are linked to a random install id and, when signed in, your account id; they are not completely anonymous:

  • which screens and panels you open, and how long (active and idle time);
  • how many edits, AI turns and publishes you make;
  • the names of features you use, the app version and your country;
  • a random install id and, when you are signed in, your account id.

They never include your prompts, the AI’s replies, file contents, file names, folder paths, page addresses, IP addresses or email addresses. Raw events are kept for up to about 7 months. Daily totals are aggregated, carry no account id and have no end date. Your raw events are deleted with your account.

  • Desktop: open Account, find Privacy & diagnostics, and clear Send anonymous usage statistics.
  • Web: open /app/account and clear the same switch under Privacy & diagnostics.

Turning the switch off stops usage-statistics collection on that device. The setting syncs to your account when connected and is picked up by your other signed-in devices. This does not turn off the records needed to provide features such as billing and cloud runs, or the error reports below.

When something crashes or fails, Plyed tries to send an error report so we can fix it. A report contains the error message and stack trace, where in the app it happened, the app version and platform, your user id if you are signed in, an identifier for the open project and a one-way hash of its folder path, the starter template, and the last lines of the project’s dev server log. Passwords and tokens in that log, home-folder names and email addresses are removed before a report is stored. Reports are kept for 30 days.

Error reports are separate from usage statistics and are not controlled by the switch above.

This site records page views, time spent, scroll depth and similar statistics about the docs, with no cookies. To opt out, use Analytics at the bottom of any page. Your browser’s Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track also turns it off.
